From Collins Cobuild English Dictionary for Advanced Learners

Hi Everyone,

I was reading the dictionary and came across this term. Perhaps you can use it in your speaking or writing some day.

Beaten-up: "A beaten-up car or other object is old and in bad condition."
Example from Collins: "Her sandals were old and somewhat beaten-up, but very comfortable."

My example: "Even though the desk was old and quite beaten-up, the student liked using it because it was big and sturdy."

Please feel free to write a sentence of your own using "beaten-up and post it on this blog. C'mon, give it a try. It's kind of fun to do. Bye,bye Mark

Although this old man's house is beaten-up, but he still don't want to move for it is a house with a lot of memory.
